Shadow Days


Your school is scheduled to visit: Tuesday January 28th or Wednesday January 29th, 2014 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Click here to see specific dates)

Below is the important information and links you will need to participate in the exciting morning we have planned for you!

Fill out any paperwork necessary (ex., field trip form) to excuse you from the morning at your school.

You will need to have someone drop you off at Benson Polytechnic High School at 546 NE 12th Ave, Portland, Oregon, 97232 at 8:00 AM.

You will be directed to the Auditorium by student escorts who will be waiting for you at main entrance to the school.

Remember to sign in once you arrive in the auditorium so that we can contact your school to let them know you are here visiting us.

While at Benson, you will be assigned to a small group to visit the three Career Tech Academy options (ex. Health Occupations, Industry & Engineering, or Communications).

-You will meet students, teachers, and see students working on projects in shop classes.
-You will be actively involved in some projects, depending on the shop class and safety rules.
-You will be able get answers to any questions you might have about the career technical education majors available at Benson (ex., Nursing; Automotive; Construction; Electric; Radio Broadcasting; Photo, Video, & Web Design; Manufacturing, Health Occupations, etc.).

Buses will be departing Benson no later than 11:00 AM to take you back to your school.

Your parents have the option to pick you up and return you to your school if arranged ahead of time with your school.

Free Breakfast and a late morning snack will be provided. Bring a sack lunch; you may return too late for your school's lunch period (check your lunch schedule).

Tech Show

The Benson Tech Show is an annual event where 8th grade students and the whole community get a chance to get a taste of what Benson Polytechnic High School has to offer, each major has a display where next years Freshman can see what the Benson lifestyle is like.
